WORST EVER! Reviewer: DAISY from OXNARD/CA THE FOOD WAS HORRIBLE THE STEAK TASTE LIKE RUBBER MEAT AND THE MASH POTATOES HAD NO FLAVOR WHAT SO EVER THE SERVICE WAS SLOW AND I'VE HAD BETTER SERVICE IN THE PAST WHAT HAPPEN?

Food good, Service lacking Reviewer: Frankie from Ventura, CA Black Angus is one of my favorite places to dine. The food is usually always hot and delicious. I typically always order the teriyaki chicken, potato soup, and rice and it never disappoints. However, the service has been lacking. The waiters come and check on you maybe once or twice after taking your order. They're never around for you to flag them down. I sat there with an empty drink for more than half of my meal. We had one particular waiter, a guy with curly hair, who was the worst I have ever had anywhere! He was so incredibly rude right from the start. He seemed annoyed that he had to be there. The only time he came by our table was to take our order and bring our check. He didn't get a tip, and I didn't feel bad about it. We order the food to go now so we don't have to deal with the waiters. Although, sad to say it, the to go service isn't much better. So all in all, the food, or at least what I order, is consistantly good. Service is terrible...you're better off ordering it to go.

Lack of Everything! Reviewer: K. Henard from Ventura, CA We had a 5:45 reservation and were seated fairly quick. "All out of child's menu. We ordered steaks and the child did as well.We waited along time(finished our drinks and waters)no waitress in site, when finally our meals arrive by another person(not a server) maybe a manager and told us that they were "all out of garlic mashed potatoes", so only one of us got them.It was about 6:30-6:45 on a Sunday nite. So we began to eat and the potatoes taste like the scrap from the bottom of the pot, the steaks only flavor was the charred from the outside. They were cooked just right on the inside although they were tough and gristely. My glass of wine was the only enjoyment there and as we left our full plates behind we commented to each other "now I remember why it's been so long since we've had dinner here" never again!!!

Way downhill Reviewer: Max from Ventura, CA I used to enjoy this restaurant very much. But my last few visits have been met with terrible service, and even worse food. I ordered a nice steak dinner, and found the steak to be mostly fat and gristle. I couldn't chew most of it, and the rest was just seasoned clear fat. The potatoes were cold and the waitress only returned to check on us one time throughout the entire meal. Until they get some new management or something, I'm not coming back.

Always hoping Reviewer: Debbie from Ventura, CA I LOVE Black Angus, so I am always disappointed when my experience is not what I hoped for. Overall I like their food (although hated when they took the Wild West Onion off the menu) and really enjoy the dinner for two specials (great deal including appetizer, main course and dessert to share). My fiance and I have visited this location several times and while we leave satisfied (aka FULL) we have also left (on occasion) feeling less-than-thrilled by the service or where we were seated. I'm not one to complain, send food back, etc - and maybe I should be. I guess what frustrates me is when host/hostess' seat a couple or family (with children) in booths around the bar area?! Why would my fiance and I like to sit right in the line of noisy bar patrons for a "date night"? My other complaint about this location (and I should have said something that night) was when a manager chose the booth right next to us to confront and subsequently fire an employee. It was very uncomfortable for my fiance and me to witness this, and I felt quite unprofessional. I can't imagine there was no other place on site where this could have been handled!
